So guess what y’all? I got a job! Also, I am trying to work the word y’all into my everyday vocabulary. I am a Midwestern girl but y’all is just such a fun word, right?!?!
Anyway, two weeks in, I have been working as a special education aide at my boys’ school. It happened SO fast! I was on vacay when boy 2’s teacher messaged me and asked if I would be interested in this position. So many thoughts going through my head: Am I qualified? Would I be willing to do the extras that special ed aides do? Can I finish vacation before I decide? He he he!
Well obviously I decided to go for it. I have been wanting to get into the school system now that the boys are both gone full time in class. I don’t think that I was hoping it be so quickly, but if this is my shot, I’m gonna take it!
In a whirlwind, I came back from vacation, had an interview two days later and was hired that same afternoon. Paperwork, testing and payroll all sorted out, it is time for GO!
It is a great spot for me! It’s hard, emotionally. But I love it so far. No day is ever the same as the others. My shift is from 12:30-3:30. I still have my mornings free and can scoop up the littles on my way out the door to go home. If they don’t have school, I don’t work. It is a super fit for our family! The people I work with are Ah-MAZing!!! So helpful and knowledgeable.
And of course, I am super excited to be earning a lil bit of my own money now! Not that it’s a ton, but there is something so gratifying about earning an income.
I feel like God has put me where I am meant to be. And that feels wonderful.
